Top Things You Need to Know Before
Buying a Hot Tub!

Warranty – Most hot tub manufactures have many exclusions and limitations on their warranty. Marquis warranty is a bumper to bumper No-Fault warranty backed by Spa Brokers with over 22 years of sales and service. There are more Marquis Spas in Colorado than any other manufacturer. Marquis Spas are made for the extreme climate Colorado has to offer. Most local dealerships will change brands every three to five years because the warranty load starts to build up and they want out, so they switch brands and hand you off to someone else. We have carried the same brand for over 20yrs. Marquis Spas. You need to see the warranty in writing so you can verify what your salesperson is saying (read the fine print). We will provide you with Marquis Warranty. We will be around to take care of you for the long haul.

Efficiency Stay away from tubs that use a thermal cavity. They claim to be more efficient and easier to fix. In order to get any true insulation value in a trapped air space you need to have it sealed…period. Each and every spa that uses this strategy falls short due to lots of gaps and vents that allow air to escape. Full Foam done properly will give you the highest R-Value and reduce your operating cost. Most spas that use a thermal cavity are prone to leak so you need access to the plumbing. We also use insulation under our foot well for added efficiency. Marquis uses an exclusive product call E-Wrap that encapsulates the spa like a blanket, increasing the R-Value by an additional15%.

Clean Water – Stay away from small circulating pumps to keep your water clean. Marquis Spas use a high flow system that will move an average of 20,000 gallons per day through two Vortex filters utilizing 100% of the filter. Most of the dirt, body oils, lotion, and other contaminates float to the top or sink to the bottom of your spa so skimming the top of the water is critical. Marquis spas skim area 53” wide, the nearest competitor is only 28”. Marquis Spas utilize an in-line sanitizer that will only use the amount of sanitizer you need and keep harsh chemicals from over powering your spa. A factory installed Plasma Solid State Ozone Water Purification System will come with your spa to reduce maintenance and chemical use by 80%. The Marquis System is designed to virtually use up all of the ozone that is produced by the plasma cell. This has been proven and tested by an independent UL laboratory. Other manufactures use Corona Discharge Ozone systems that produce more ozone than you can use resulting in the killing of spa parts like covers, pillows, fittings ect…. They are also very dangerous to replace and should never be done by the home owner. Some manufactures claim to be Chemical Free. The chemical free or nearly chemical free story is dangerous for the buyer. For safe bathing conditions spa water needs to have a residual of sanitizer. Tossing in chemicals randomly will result in large swings in water chemistry and in the long run results in more maintenance, just what you’re trying to avoid. Our system is automatic, theirs is a 5-speed manual that grinds the gears every time you try and shift.

Therapy Marquis Spas has just the right amount of jets and water pressure that create true water therapy. Some spas manufacture just arbitrarily place jets and jet counts. Other manufactures will have jets that actually hurt to sit in front of and give little to know real therapeutic value. Marquis Spas use Hydrokinetic Therapy, which means that we offer a harder but softer massage by allowing the right mixture of water pressure and water volume. To put it another way, Have you ever put your thumb over a garden hose to force a stronger stream – well stronger is not necessarily better. If you pointed that stream of water at someone it would hurt if they were close enough, well in a spa your only inches away from nozzles that force water into a stream of needling pain. Marquis has the solution HK40 jets that take the needling pressure off but offer a larger volume of water to pass through so the jets not only feels great but also offer the penetrating therapy you need to repair the body.

Construction

  1. Insulation – Marquis has five layers of insulating features.
    1. 1lb structural foam over shell 1 inch thick.
    2. Light weight full foam that goes over plumbing and fills all voids and cavities.
    3. Structural foam under the foot well to prevent heat loss.
    4. E-Wrap ¼ thick space age material that wraps around spa like a blanket to add even more efficiency.
    5. A base made to encapsulate the bottom of the spa so there is no ground to structure contact.
  2. Plumbing – Every jet is glued and clamped to prevent leaks.
  3. Structure – We use all 2x4 under construction – wood is still the strongest and more expensive because of it’s qualities that you can’t get with steel or aluminum.
  4. Cabinet – We use exclusive all weather cabinet that is under warranty for 7years – no other manufacturer has this warranty on there cabinet. Most other manufactures uses a material that will fade and discolor – most of them use the same supplier.
  5. Shell – Marquis Spas uses an acrylic shell backed with layered fiberglass. This has proven to be the best way to manufacture a spa shell to prevent cracks or delamination. With the dramatic temperature shifts and the high UV rays associated with Colorado’s climate it is the only time tested proven way to go. Only a handful of manufactures use a different process. Manufactures that use thermal plastic backed shells or thermal formed plastics do so because it’s cheap and they may not have the sophisticated equipment it takes to fiberglass properly. Thermal plastic backed shells have a tendency to delaminate and warp.
  6. Cover construction – We include as a standard feature a 2lb density foam cover that tapers form 4” to 2” to allow water to run off the cover. We also have the only UL listed cover sold in Colorado. All of our covers come with safety straps to secure your cover from high wind storms and most importantly to keep your kids safe.
  7. UL Underwriters Laboratories – Marquis Spas is the only UL tub sold in Colorado. Many other manufactures have gone to ECL because they are not as stringent and allow manufactures to get away with building spas under lower standers.
